The Giving Tree
Emmanuel Gives Thanks to God for Abundant Blessings again this Harvest Season through Donations to The Giving Tree
We will be collecting for individuals and families for a Thanksgiving Blessing again this year. Last year we collected over $625 for distribution. Senior Warden, Patti Veal-Cislon, who began the campaign to share food thanks all who contributed!
Emmanuel’s FOOD SHARE box in the back of the church started in 2019, when Sharon Janitor brought a box and started putting canned goods in it weekly for anyone to take. Although the box remains stocked with canned goods and fresh produce from church gardeners in the summer and fall, Harvest Giving through The Giving Tree is an additional resource to share the blessing of abundance with our friends and neighbors on the Northside.
Donations will be collected in the Sanctuary September 29 – November 17, 2024.
September 29 – November 17
💰 Cash or checks can be deposited in the Blessing Bucket on the organ next to the Poster pictured above, and will be collected by Patti and deposited every Sunday.
Distributions in the form of Gift Cards to Subway, McDonald’s and Giant Eagle will take place the following week in time for Thanksgiving.
People in the church can request a Gift Card for someone they know who could use some help. Please turn in the name and contact info to Patti Cislon at church or find her contact info in our Directory.
“Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed,
but that there might be equality.
14 At the present time your plenty will supply what they need,
so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. “
2 Corinthians 8:13-14
But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge,
in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—
see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
