This shelter is located on a large level area on North Ridge Drive.
There is a portable restroom, and water pump and a nearby ballfield.

The District One officers have planned a picnic and meet and greet for the parishes that comprise District One in the Diocese as a way of creating more communication and camaraderie among parishioners! This has been a long time in coming and Father Don is encouraging us to attend and meet new and old Neighbors from the Diocese – some close by and some not-so-much!

What is better for connecting with others than sharing a meal and being outdoors!
The District One Committee will provide hamburgers🍔 and drinks.🥤🥤
NO Rsvp needed. Just show up with a dish to share!

The New School Year is Starting Up Soon!

Pittsburgh Public Dates:
Grades 1–12: August 24, 2026
Kindergarten: August 27, 2026
Teachers Return: August 18, 2026
Paraprofessionals Return: August 21, 2026

Prayer for our Teachers and Students and MORE 🙏🏻

One of our members drives a bus. He sees a LOT. He is a dedicated Christian who prays and works to get kids safely where they are going.
Pray for all the challenges of David and other Bus Drivers!

Remember all the folks who make school safe: the Hall Monitors, Crossing Guards, Administratiors, Principles, Safety Patrol, Lunchroom Personnel, Superintendents, and drivers following busses and in school zones. Pray for our kids.

Dear Heavenly Father bless and watch over all children and students who will be returning to schools, from pre-school on up. Keep them safe from bodliy harm, and free from political conflict, and social pressures. We pray for ample food and rest, safety, and peace in their homes and families that they may be able and ready to learn all that you have set out for them this year.

We ask you to give parents and teachers all the strength, patience and wisdom they need as they continue the difficult job of raising happy, wise, safe and loved children.

O Eternal God, Bless all schools, colleges, and universities around the world, that they may be lively centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who teach and those who learn may find you to be the source of all truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. To reserve your ticket(s), Please click here to reserve your seat and pay by credit card or send a check to the diocesan office (325 Oliver Ave, Suite 300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222) by August 15. Roberto was an amazing man with many talents and a very big heart. At the last General Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh, a resoulution passed to commemorate Robero. August 18 or Decemeber 31 were proposed as a day to honor his contribution to a Christian way of life in Pittsburgh.

Roberto Clemente’s charitable work in Pittsburgh was as much a part of his legacy as his Hall of Fame baseball career. Beyond the roar of Forbes Field and Three Rivers Stadium, he moved quietly through the city, giving his own money, food, and clothing to struggling families and handing out gloves and bats to children who couldn’t afford them. He was a frequent visitor at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he sat with sick kids, prayed with their families, and insisted that every child deserved to feel special.

On December 31, 1972, Clemente died in a plane crash while enroute to deliver humanitarian aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. He was 38 years old. His death on a mission of mercy sealed his legacy, not only as a sports icon, but as a model of sacrificial love, compassion, and service to neighbor.

Read more about the proposal and especially Roberto’s life long ministry.

If you have any questions about tickets, etc., please contact the Rev. Canon Wes Smedley at wsmedley@episcopalpgh.org or 412-721-0853, ext. 256.
Hope to see you at the ballgame!
