Blessing the First Responders

Every year on 9/11 the members of Emmanuel cook up a Blessing for the First Responders at Fire Station #37, 1124 W. North Ave. Northside

An Appreciation Dinner of entreés, desserts and drinks is organized for the Firefighters at the Manchester Station.  In addition, the men are blessed with Prayer for their continued safety and effectiveness as they work to save lives in the Northside area near our church.  Anyone from the church is welcome to contribute to the feast!

Although this is the 4th year Emmanuel has reached out to these First Responders, this action is in keeping with the “Who is My Neighbor” theme from the 2018 Diocesan Convention and the Lenten Learning Day, 2019 and the theme for Jazz at Emmanuel 2019, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor.”

We hope these responders will know how much we appreciate their service and honor them for risking their lives to save community members in need.  They serve us everyday; we take this one day to serve them as with the love of Christ.  ❤️

“Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.” Deuteronomy 15:10
