Blessing for the First Responders
Fire Station #37
1124 W. North Ave. Northside
September 11, 2019
Emmanuel will provide an Appreciation Dinner of entrées, desserts and drinks for the 8 firemen at Manchester Station #37 on 9/11, along with a Blessing of prayer for their continued safety as they work to save lives in the Northside area near our church.
To participate, bring your donations of food:
— to the fire station at 4:30
–to the church 10:30 am to 4:00 pm Wednesday
–to Helen’s after 4:00 pm on Tuesday evening. (To contact Helen, see below.)
Although this is the 4th year Emmanuel has reached out to these First Responders, this action is in keeping with the “Who is My Neighbor” theme from the 2018 Diocesan Convention and the Lenten Learning Day, 2019 and the Jazz at Emmanuel them this year. “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”
The gist of the theme is for church members to organize to reach out to the community neighboring the church grounds. This will raise the visibility of the church for anyone who might be looking for a church or pastor, or who might need one in the future. It is also a way for churches to leave our neighbors with a fair representation of Christ as one who serves others in love. ❤️
