THE GOOD NEWS is that we can be reborn, start over, step into immortality, freedom, joy, and a meaningful life that counts. LIke all the Themes for Jazz this year, being reborn is a decision. We decide to accept the gift of love and life through Christ. Though it sounds like it would be a “duh” of course kind of decision, it is not always that easy. Our pride, and our fear, and our doubt get in the way and we can put it off for another day and time — endlessly.
It takes courage and humility to accept God’s gift, let go of who you were and become who you are in Christ. But God can help us with this too. And once we decide to take up the charge to be reborn, we will wonder why we ever put it off for a second. “Today is the day of salvation,” Paul declares! 2 Cor. 6:2 .
